Major UK mushroom producers including Monaghan Mushrooms, Drinkwaters Mushrooms Limited, and Walsh Mushrooms UC actively recruit international workers year-round for climate-controlled indoor environments. Unlike seasonal field crops, mushroom production occurs in temperature and humidity-controlled growing houses, enabling continuous operations throughout the year.
The UK mushroom industry faces ongoing labour shortages, creating strong opportunities for reliable, long-term employment. Work involves hand-picking mushrooms using the "One Touch Picking Technique" to preserve quality, grading and sorting to meet retail specifications, and operating specialized equipment in modern growing facilities.
Please note: This position requires attention to detail and ability to work in controlled indoor environments with specific temperature and humidity conditions.
Work environment: Temperature and humidity-controlled growing houses and polytunnels with modern ventilation systems.
